Concrete pour notice to neighbours: free template

Pour days start early and fill the street with trucks. One letter a few days before makes all the difference.

A concrete truck and a concrete pump pouring a slab with two workers

Quick answer: A concrete pour notice tells neighbours the pour date, the early start, where the pump and trucks will stand, any parking or driveway impact and who to call. Deliver it to the street two to five days before the pour, and update it if the weather moves the date.

When to send it

Send it a few days before any slab, footing or driveway pour that needs a pump or several trucks. Pours often start at first light and the pump can sit across a driveway for hours.

Weather moves pours. If the date changes, a quick second note keeps everyone on side.

What to expect

  • An early start: trucks arrive from about [time] and the pour should be finished by [time].
  • A concrete pump parked at [location] and up to [number] concrete trucks coming and going.
  • [Parking will be restricted on [street] outside [addresses] from [time] to [time]. Please move cars by [time] the night before.]
  • Some noise from the pump and vibrators during the pour.

[A traffic controller will be on site to keep driveways and the footpath clear.]

Thank you for your patience. If anything worries you while we are on site, please call [name] on [mobile]. We would much rather hear from you early.

Kind regards,

Tips that save complaints later

  • Give the backup date in the same letter. It saves a second round of door knocking when it rains.
  • Name the driveways that may be blocked and for how long.
  • Pours are a common condition-of-consent notice. Check your conditions for the minimum notice period.
