Notice templates · Demolition and excavation
Demolition is the noisiest, dustiest part of most jobs and the one neighbours remember. A clear letter before the machines arrive heads off most of the complaints.
Quick answer: A demolition notice gives neighbours the dates and hours, how dust and noise will be kept down, any hazardous material removal and a contact number. Deliver it before demolition starts, as early as your consent or licence conditions require.
Send it before any demolition or bulk excavation, and before any asbestos removal. Councils and certifiers usually set a notice period and distance for demolition in the conditions of consent, and asbestos removal often has its own notification rules. Check your conditions and your licensed removalist’s obligations before you print.
Change everything in [square brackets], delete anything that does not apply and check it against your own conditions before you print.
