Notice templates · Event organisers and councils
Residents mostly want to know three things: when the road is closed, how they get in and out, and who to call on the day. This template answers all three.
Quick answer: An event or road closure notice tells residents which streets close and when, how they can get in and out, and who to call on the day. Deliver it to every address on and near the affected streets well before the event; your event approval may set a minimum period.
Send it when an event will close a road, take parking or bring crowds and noise into a residential street. Councils and traffic authorities usually ask for resident notification as part of the traffic management plan, often a week or more beforehand. Use their timing if they have set one.
Change everything in [square brackets], delete anything that does not apply and check it against your own conditions before you print.
