Notice templates · Builders, civil and utility crews
Night work is where goodwill runs out fastest. Tell people exactly which nights, what they will hear and that it is approved.
Quick answer: An out of hours work notice tells residents which nights or weekends work will happen, the hours, what they will hear and see, that the work is approved (with the reference) and who to call on the night. Deliver it to everyone likely to be disturbed, usually at least five to seven days ahead or as your approval requires.
Send it before any approved night, early morning or weekend work: road and rail work, concrete pours that must start before traffic, crane lifts or utility shutdowns that cannot happen in the day.
Out of hours approvals from councils, road authorities and environment regulators often require resident notification with a set lead time. Check yours. This letter covers what they typically ask for.
Change everything in [square brackets], delete anything that does not apply and check it against your own conditions before you print.
